When each new direction comes on, the music stops long enough to give directions, and then resumes when it's finished. In my fit i hooked the cameras power to my reverse light and it auto detects when the camera has power and swaps to display camera automatically. The camera is either always on or powered by the reverse lights, depending on your set up.
