A download link between two computers is deceptively simple, but it can involve the data you requested being sent halfway around the world before it arrives on your computer, passing through hundreds of different servers and cables. If there is a problem with any piece of equipment along the route it may be beyond our ability to fix.
Our developers work hard to ensure that your downloads are being routed to the server with the best connection but there are times where these limitations that are outside of our control mean that we cannot provide you a fast download speed.
In these cases, we may ask you to consult with your Internet Service Provider ISP to see if they can improve the way they route your traffic to our servers. If you are getting a consistently limited speed which is lower than the maximum for your membership tier, this is not being enforced by us and is either a connection problem or a limit from your ISP. Before we get into the more advanced troubleshooting, it's important to cover the simple problems we often encounter which can be fixed with relative ease.
In this section we'll be checking your maximum connection speed to each of our server locations. For each of these links please stop all other downloads on your PC, click a link, allow seconds for the speed to stabilize, take a note of the speed, then stop the download and try the next one. Part 2. Open Windows Explorer. You'll need to install Skyrim to a different folder than the usual Steam folder. This is because some mods have problems when accessing game files in the Program Files folder on your computer, which is the default installation location. Open your hard drive. Double-click on your main drive to view it. This is typically the C: drive. This will create a new folder at the base of your hard drive.
Name the folder Steam 2. You can name it anything, but this will help you identify it. Create another folder named Skyrim Mods. This folder needs to be on the same drive as your new Steam 2 folder.
Start Steam. Now that the folder is ready, you can add it to your Steam library so that you can install games to it. Click the Steam menu and select Settings. Click the Downloads tab and click Steam Library Folders. Click Add Library Folder. Browse for your newly-created folder.
This folder will now be available to install Steam games to, including Skyrim. Right-click Skyrim in your Steam library and click Install.
If it is already installed, you'll need to uninstall it first. Make sure you're installing standard Skyrim or the Legendary Edition. Most mods do not yet work with Skyrim Special Edition Remastered. Select your new folder from the Install under menu. Wait for the game to install. Part 3. Visit the Mod Manager website. Click Download Manual. Set the proper directory during installation. This will allow easy installation directly from the Nexus website. Visit the Skyrim Script Extender website.
Go to skse. Click the installer link. Set the proper directory for SKSE. Click SKSE. Set the location of SKSE. Check Out This Mod.
